SDF Field Management

SDF Field Management strives to encourage farms to adopt precision farming practices, providing the necessary tools to identify variability within the fields and offer the opportunity for targeted intervention through the creation of variable rate prescription maps. SDF has selected IBF Servizi, a top-tier provider of precision farming services, as a strategic partner to develop and supply bespoke digital farming solutions to its clients. These packages are tailored to enhance field yields, catering to various sizes and requirements.

SDF Field Management envisions the possibility of associating with the different categories of machines in the catalog a package of services that provide the tools to approach the principles of digital agriculture and a series of optional services with different degrees of complexity and automation.

BASIC PACKAGE

  • field boundary georeferencing;
  • satellite crop health observation;
  • agro-meteorological parameter monitoring;
  • field variable identification;
  • creation of appropriate prescription maps for the machine.

DSS SEEDING

  • analysis of context of the organisation and production targets of the business;
  • definition of optimum seeding density;
  • creation of prescription maps for extensive crops.

The service is also applicable for businesses without VRT (variable rate technology) machinery in their fleet: in the absence of such machines, an average quantity for the entire field is estimated.

DSS FERTILISATION

  • analysis of context of the organisation and production targets of the business;
  • definition of optimum fertilisation plan;
  • creation of prescription maps for site-specific machine applications.

The fertilisation plan includes pre-seeding fertilisation and covering activities for crops identified in the crop plan in the relevant areas. The service is also applicable for businesses without VRT (variable rate technology) machinery in their fleet: in the absence of such machines, an average quantity for the entire field is estimated. DSS takes into consideration scenarios where fertilisation is employed.

DSS IRRIGATION

  • definition of irrigation times, frequencies and volumes for extensive, intensive and tree crops.

Models are used which simulate the water consumption of the crop and the water content of the soil on the basis of agro-meteorological data, and data relative to the soil and the requirements of the crop during the key stages in the cycle.

DSS DEFENCE

Forecasting models, with code containing the epidemiology of the pathogen and fed with either modelled or real-time meteorological data, are used to monitor the risk levels of potential infection due to a specific pathogen. The service includes the following:

  • meteorological trend analysis;
  • analysis of pathogenic risk infection models of crop;
  • consulting services for defining the ideal methods and time schedules for treatment.
