DEUTZ-FAHR 6180 AT THE TOP OF ITS CLASS IN FUEL ECONOMY TEST

August 1, 2014

Results of Profi-PowerMix test on DEUTZ-FAHR's new 6 Series tractors by the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft) officially confirm the tractors' record-setting, best-in-class for diesel-fuel economy in its power segment. The 6180 tractors are equipped with DEUTZ TCD 6.1 L06 4V Tier 4i emissions-compliant engines with SCR technology.

The PowerMix tests were performed at the internationally accredited DLG Test Center in Gross-Umstadt, Germany. The PowerMix test is designed to be a real-life indicator of fuel economy. Although performed on a test track to ensure standardization, the tests are designed to give a more accurate indication of fuel economy by simulating common tractor working conditions. The test is based on fuel consumption figures for a variety of different working cycles for draft, PTO and mixed (including hydraulic) applications.

Profi, one of the leading magazines in assessing, scientifically testing, comparing and advising on agricultural machinery, recently published the PowerMix test results for DEUTZ-FAHR 6180. The article shows how this tractor offers the best fuel economy in its power segment. The consumption of this model in PowerMix measurements puts it at the top of its power class: 266 g/kWh means almost 10% less on average than all the other tractors tested until March 2014.

"The 6 Series outstanding fuel economy can be attributed to the DEUTZ-FAHR Power Efficiency concept focusing on the optimization of engine, transmission, hydraulics and electronics as a whole. – states Massimo Ribaldone, SAME DEUTZ-FAHR Executive R&D Director – The recently published PowerMix test by Profi clearly confirms our leadership in this segment in terms of fuel economy."
