DEUTZ-FAHR 6160 POWERSHIFT CATEGORY LEADING FUEL ECONOMY

September 18, 2014

The results of the PowerMix test for the DEUTZ-FAHR 6160 from the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft) centre in Germany confirms the new 6 Series is a category leader in terms of fuel efficiency.

The PowerMix test is a measurement method internationally recognised by farmers and agricultural contractors which determines the specific consumption of a tractor in real working conditions. The procedure adopted simulates a wide range of applications, including transport and field work operations, with PTO and general mixed work.

Traction, one of the emerging German magazines in the field of agricultural machinery, recently published the article which provides the results of the PowerMix tests for the DEUTZ-FAHR 6160. The tractor provides excellent performance in terms of fuel consumption in all types of work and with just 272 g/kWh represents the tractor with the lowest fuel consumption in its power category compared to all other tractors tested up to May 2014.

The excellent results of the PowerMix test can be attributed to application of the Power Efficiency concept developed by DEUTZ-FAHR. The principle is based on the search for the best integration between engine, transmission and hydraulics in order to optimise tractor performance both in terms of fuel consumption and productivity.

PowerMix Test Results
The results of the PowerMix Test published by Traction for the DEUTZ-FAHR 6160 (272 g/kWh of diesel + 23.1 g/kWh of Adblue) are available in the issue:
