NEW SDF TIER 4i ENGINE PRESENTED AT SIMA

June 20, 2013

SDF has developed a new engine with advanced technology capable of competing in future markets and compliant with Stage IIIB and Tier IV and Stage 1V/Tier 4 final emission standards. In its 3-cylinder build maximum output is rated at 100hp, while the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder versions produce 140hp and 200hp respectively.

The four-cylinder version of this new engine range, designated the "Farmotion" range, is to be unveiled at SIMA.
The underlying concepts of this new engine range are optimised downsizing of the engine displacement to 962cc/cylinder, high fuel injection pressure, Common rail technology, exhaust gas recirculation and the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). The Stage IV/T4 final version will also include a NOx reducing catalyzer (SCR).

The new engine has been designed to offer a higher level of performance, with wide constant torque and power bands and reduced emissions and trials are reported to have produced good performance in all load conditions.

The “Farmotion”, designed specifically for use in tractors, offers compact dimensions, reliability and simple maintenance. There is one cylinder head per cylinder and the cylinder liners can be removed, thus ensuring optimal cooling and excellent serviceability.

The new engines feature automatic valve clearance adjustment, so valve clearances will never have to be set manually throughout the entire life of the engine.

Performance is outstanding in all load conditions, thanks to the Common Rail system, which achieves injection pressures of 2000 bar, thereby helping to minimise emissions, which are even further reduced by the DOC catalyzer.

Externally cooled exhaust gas recirculation completes the list of new features offered by "Farmotion".
